Requirements

NQF Level 7 qualification/degree in ICT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Transformation, Engineering/Innovation Management or equivalent. Minimum five years at Middle/Senior Management leading digital transformation, technology adoption or innovation ecosystem development. Relevant postgraduate qualification at NQF Level 8 or above advantageous. Knowledge of emerging technologies, AI governance, technology policy, innovation ecosystems and partnerships; strategic leadership, financial and project management skills. SMS pre-entry programme required before appointment.

Duties

Lead technology innovation and AI policies, strategies and governance frameworks. Research emerging technologies and advise on opportunities and risks. Support R&D, innovation financing, intellectual property, technology transfer and commercialisation. Develop innovation ecosystems and strategic partnerships. Interpret international technology policy and translate it into national programmes. Conduct SEIAS and promote ethical, responsible AI. Support AI institutes, hubs and centres of excellence. Manage staff, finances, change and compliance.
