Common questions
How do I check my SASSA SRD R370 status?
Go to the official SRD website (srd.sassa.gov.za), choose 'Application status', and enter your ID number and the phone number you used to apply. You'll get a one-time PIN by SMS.
Will a government job stop my SRD grant?
The SRD grant is for people with little or no income. Once you earn a salary or stipend above the income limit, SASSA's checks will usually decline future months. Tell SASSA when your income changes.
Can I do a government internship while getting a grant?
Yes, you may apply. Internship stipends count as income, so your SRD grant may stop while you are paid — but the work experience makes permanent posts much easier to get.
