Requirements

Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Degree/Diploma) in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a “Professional Nurse” with Midwifery A post basic qualification in ‘Critical Care Nursing Science’, with duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC Certificates of Registration with the SANC (General Nursing and Midwifery) Current registration with the SANC (2026) Experience Grade 1: a minimum of 4 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Experience Grade 2: a minimum of 14 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
