Requirements

Honours degree (NQF 8) in Environmental Sciences or relevant equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA. At least 3 years' environmental management or related experience. Experience processing EIA decisions and current involvement in the EIA sector. Knowledge of NEMA section 24, the Waste Act, EIA regulations, integrated environmental management and sustainable development. Strong communication, analysis, planning and policy application skills.

Duties

Review reports and process EIA final decisions, amendments, exemptions, EMPr approvals and NEMA section 24G applications within required timeframes. Provide stakeholder guidance, attend project and preapplication meetings and conduct site inspections. Maintain project databases, respond to queries, provide administrative and technical support, archive files on EDMS and contribute to Appeals Response Reports.
