Requirements

National Diploma (NQF 6) in Forestry or relevant related qualification recognised by SAQA. At least 2 years' forestry or related experience. Knowledge of forestry, fire, environmental and public service legislation, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and the PCI&S management framework. Financial, project, people management, communication and negotiation skills. Valid driver's licence, willingness to travel and ability to drive state vehicles.

Duties

Implement commercial activities and operational plans in state forest plantations. Quality-assure service providers' work, develop management plans and update annual operational plans. Conduct physical verification, monitor compliance and prepare reports. Implement audit actions and create EPWP jobs. Protect plantations from fire, livestock and pests. Promote and enforce forestry legislation, administer support services and conduct stakeholder engagement and awareness campaigns.
