Requirements

Grade 12 and National Diploma in Survey or Cartography (NQF 6). Compulsory registration with the South African Geomatics Council as a Survey Technician or Surveyor. At least 3 years' post-qualification technical survey experience. Valid driver's licence. Knowledge of survey design, analysis, computer-aided applications, legal compliance, research and project management. Technical reporting, leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills.

Duties

Provide technical survey services, including examination, maintenance, archiving and supply of survey documents. Perform surveys and computations, ensure safety compliance and evaluate procedures for new technology. Provide GIS, mapping and information services. Support budgeting, reporting and operational planning. Develop and maintain databases. Supervise candidate technicians, officers, personnel and assets. Conduct research, professional development and liaison with relevant bodies.
