Requirements

Recognised four-year degree in Environmental Management/Science or Natural Science, or equivalent related qualification (NQF 8), and six years' post-qualification experience. Experience applying NEMA, EIA Regulations and waste legislation, and administering and reviewing EIAs. Knowledge of integrated environmental management, sustainable development and legislative frameworks. Advanced computer, project management, report-writing and communication skills. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.

Duties

Administer environmental authorisations under NEMA and NEMWA for national developments. Review EIA reports, Case Officer recommendations and section 24G and 30A applications. Manage stakeholder relationships and queries; guide environmental officers and provide EIA advice during meetings and site visits. Provide technical input to appeals response reports. Support compliance monitoring and enforcement. Participate in SAWEA and Strategic Infrastructure Projects meetings. Respond to PAIA requests and Ministerial and Parliamentary queries.
