Requirements
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma/ Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery) that allows registration with the ‘South African Nursing Council’ (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife. Current registration with the SANC (2026) Experience Grade 1: None Experience Grade 2: a minimum of 10 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Experience Grade 3: a minimum of 20 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing Knowledge, Skills Training and Competencies Required: Knowledge of nursing 188 care processes and procedures, nursing statutes, and other relevant legal frameworks. Duties
Provide direction and supervision for the implementation of the nursing plan and quality patient care. Implement standards, practices, criteria and indicators for quality nursing care. Practise nursing and healthcare in accordance with laws and regulations relevant to nursing and healthcare. Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders. Utilise resources efficiently and effectively. Assist with relief duties of the supervisor and act as a shift leader on day and night duty when necessary. Provide appropriate nursing care to patients in the Admission, Antenatal and Labour Ward. Promote and advocate proper treatment and care, responding to patients' needs, requirements and expectations.
