Requirements
Basic R425 Diploma / Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse with Midwifery. Current South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration (2026).9 years’ appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration, with at least 4 years at Primary Health Care (PHC) management level. Diploma/Degree in Nursing Administration/Health Service Management will be an added advantage. Computer literacy and a valid driver’s licence. Knowledge, Skills Training and Competencies Required: Knowledge of Primary Health Care policies, legislation, guidelines, norms and standards. Duties
Provide strategic leadership and direction to Primary Health Care nursing services. Coordinate, supervise and monitor quality and efficient patient-care services. Monitor implementation of the District Health Plan, PHC indicators, norms, standards and targets, and initiate corrective action where required. Coordinate planning, monitoring and evaluation of PHC service delivery within the sub-district. Ensure compliance with Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC), Ideal Health Facility, clinical governance and nursing standards. Manage human, financial and material resources effectively, including budget monitoring and audit compliance. Manage staff performance, development, discipline and grievances. Ensure effective infection prevention and control and quality-improvement programmes. Monitor key PHC programmes, including HIV, AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Tuberculosis (
