Requirements

Grade 12 and Bachelor's Degree in Town and Regional Planning or Urban and Regional Planning. Compulsory SACPLAN registration as a Professional Town and Regional Planner on appointment. Minimum 6 years' post-qualification town and regional planning experience. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel. Knowledge of planning legislation, methodologies, project management, research and computer-aided applications. Strategic, analytical, communication, computer, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Duties

Lead spatial forecasting and town and regional planning for land development. Provide technical assistance and monitor legislative and planning compliance. Manage planning standards and interpret legislation and policies. Deliver provincial spatial planning and land use management services in liaison with National Office. Manage resources, risks, knowledge sharing and stakeholder relations. Support departmental and rural development programmes and manage spatial plans at national, regional, provincial and municipal levels.
