Requirements

Engineering degree (B Eng/BSc Eng) or relevant qualification; six years' post-qualification experience; compulsory ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer; valid driver's licence. Knowledge of mechanical engineering, construction, project recovery plans, PFMA, OHSA, supply chain and contract management and built environment legislation. Computer literacy and engineering software skills; strong problem-solving, interpersonal, negotiation, writing and presentation skills. Willingness to travel.

Duties

Lead technical proposals and resource planning; review and approve engineering designs and set maintenance standards. Manage risks and provide engineering advice. Control expenditure and check tender documentation. Monitor consultants, project execution and infrastructure maintenance; approve consulting engineers' fees. Mentor and develop technical personnel and improve work systems and processes.
