Requirements

NQF level 6 or equivalent SAQA-recognised qualification in Financial Accounting, Financial Management or Management Accounting. Four years' relevant Assistant Director experience in debt and revenue management. Knowledge of debt/loss control responsibilities, public sector financial administration, PFMA and Treasury Regulations. Policy development, computer literacy, planning, communication, numeracy, accuracy, leadership and people management skills. Understanding of BAS, PERSAL and other computer systems.

Duties

Manage receivables, revenue collection, cashier operations, banking and TRC payments. Prepare financial statements, record transactions, safeguard documentation and perform monthly reconciliations. Follow up interdepartmental receivables, resolve audit queries and supervise staff. Investigate irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure; identify and mitigate financial risks. Monitor legislative compliance, audit recommendations and expenditure registers. Conduct internal control assessments and manage the operational risk register.
