Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Audiologist or Speech Therapist and Audiologist. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as an Audiologist or Speech Therapist and Audiologist. Experience: Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA in the relevant profession in Audiology or Speech Therapy and Audiology (where applicable in respect of RSA qualified employees). 1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Audiology or Speech Therapy and Audiology in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Duties

To provide Audiology services at facility level (hospitals and primary healthcare facilities) and community level in the Garden Route District, inclusive of adult and paediatric patients. Assessment, diagnosis, and management of hearing and balance disorders. Conducting hearing evaluations, fitting and maintaining hearing aids, providing patient counselling and rehabilitation, implementing hearing conservation programmes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Provide education and training to healthcare professionals, community health workers and patients and plan audiology related health awareness activities according to the health awareness calendar.
