Requirements
Relevant degree in Accounting, Auditing, Risk, Legal or Information Technology. At least 10 years in a senior/executive role in relevant environments and 5–10 years serving on public-sector Audit or Risk Committees. Knowledge of PFMA, Modified Cash Standards, GRAP or GAAP. Integrity, independent judgment and good communication skills. Relevant postgraduate qualification and professional body membership are advantages.
Duties
Oversee risk management, control, governance, IT, compliance, external and internal audit, management accounts and annual financial statements. Advise the Accounting Officer and build confidence in departmental management through effective oversight. Discharge responsibilities under chapter 3 of Treasury Regulations and the Audit Committee Charter.
