Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Ultrasound Radiography. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Radiographer in Ultrasound. Experience: Grade 1: None after registration In Ultrasound Radiography with the HPCSA in Ultrasound Radiography in respect of qualified RSA employees. One-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in Ultrasound Radiography in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA in Ultrasound Radiography in respect of RSA qualified employees. Duties

Perform a full range of obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound scans, including routine, level II/III, and specialized assessments with adherence to departmental protocols and the most effective use of human and financial resources. Use advanced ultrasound equipment to produce accurate, high- quality diagnostic images. Identify normal and abnormal findings, and provide clear, structured reports. Adopt responsibility for regular back-up and storage of ultrasound images. Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care, ensuring comfort and dignity throughout the imaging process. Maintain continuity of care by undertaking follow-up scans and liaising with referring clinicians. Manage the administration and care of ultrasound equipment within the department.
