Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) certificate or equivalent plus National Diploma / Bachelor's Degree (NQF6/7) /in Labour Relations / Labour Law / Industrial Relations. Valid Drivers License. Three (3) to five (5) years relevant working experience in the Field of Labour Relations of which two (2) years must be at a Supervisory (Salary Level 7/8) level. A valid drivers license. Knowledge: Through knowledge of Labour Legislations, Acts, Public Service Policies / Regulations and Collective Bargaining Agreements. Ability to work under pressure. The ability to develop and interpret policies. Skills: Computer literacy in Microsoft packages. Research, conflict resolution skills, interpersonal skills, communication (verbal and report writing). Analytic investigation and presentation skills.

Duties

Facilitate / investigate grievances. Investigate misconduct and conduct disciplinary hearings. Represent the employer at conciliations and arbitrations. Represent the department at Collective Bargaining structures and at the Provincial Labour Relations Forum. Compile various Labour Relations reports. Advise management on Labour Relations issues. Strike management. Manage the performance of personnel within the unit. Capacity building in the department.
